About Me
I have always been a hippie at heart. My mother always says, “you were born in the wrong time era!”. Actually, I was born in just the right era. A time were women need women more than ever. Society and the media are the ones that put expectations on people, women especially. The idea of Summer Gypsy is to pop-up randomly at festivals to spread confidence and happiness to women of all kind with the style that I feel beautiful in. Summer because I’m in Michigan and can only do it in the summer. Gypsy because I have a colorful and a traveler wanderlust kind of soul. My goal is to help break that expectation everywhere I go. I feel the world would be a boring place if everyone was the same. The cultures, colors and the shapes of people is what makes the world beautiful to me.
The definition of a Gypsy is this.
A gypsy is a member of a people originating in South Asia and traditionally having a wandering way of life, living widely scattered across Europe and North and South America and speaking a language (Romani) that is related to Hindi; a Romani person. Gypsy is also used as a description for a nomadic or "free-spirited" person, whose personality and lifestyle may be similar to historical gypsies.
This resonates with my soul especially because they wore bright colorful attire and rode in wagons just as colorful. I’m just a Gypsy selling my colorful clothes. The Summer came in because I’m a Michigan native and can only pop-up in the summer time.
